Nyt: “spitzer Office Finds E-mail Can Be Revealing”
So yesterday, an email from NY Governer Eliot Spitzer’s office landed in my inbox.
It was from his communications department in response to an application I submitted for a possible Public Affairs job for the State of New York.
Low and behold, whomever sent that email to me, also sent it to 227 others in the CC field, many of whom, according to the NYT, were reporters and local and city government employees!
Wow — what a breach of trust and privacy!
Here’s the NYT take on this mis-step.
The fact that the COMMUNICATIONS department made this mistake is scary. Will heads roll?
Will I receive another email apologizing for the fact that my name and desires to join the Spitzer administration were made public in this fashion?
